Greene King raises a glass to net zero by 2040

Pub chain Greene King has pledged to achieve net zero emissions by 2040.

It has set science-based targets that have been verified by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), including halving all emissions by 2030 from a 2019 baseline.

The same targets have been set for Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.

Nick Mackenzie, Chief Executive, said: “I’m proud of the commitment we’re undertaking today, helping customers to make more environmentally friendly choices and reducing our own carbon footprint.

“By submitting our near-term target to SBTi for validation we are making the public commitment to take action. It matters to our customers, our communities and our employees.”
