Join experts from organizations already gaining benefits from circular business models, as they share best practice and discuss circularity as means to transition to a net zero future. Walk away with clear, actionable steps to help your organization to embrace circularity.

Humanity is living beyond the planet’s capacity: with economies in recovery mode, we are back at a steep rate outpacing available resources in the traditional “take-make-waste” approach of the linear economy. Today, only around 8% of our economy is circular – of all the precious minerals, fossil fuels, metals and biomass we consume a very small share is cycled back. The severe consequences of it are all around: from plastic pollution in oceans, to significant climate impact and geopolitical stress due to resource scarcity.

No question: circularity is good for the planet – but it is also good business. A growing number of leading businesses are redesigning their business models, identifying cost savings and resilience, improving relationships with suppliers and customers, and delivering on sustainability commitments. The proof is in the numbers: the circular economy has been estimated to be capable of generating $4.5 trillion in economic value by 2030.

Regulation is accelerating the trend: On 2nd March 2022, world leaders and environment ministers met to begin negotiations on the world’s first legally binding international treaty on plastic pollution. The size of the challenge is enormous: today, around 400 million tons of plastic are produced each year, and beside the waste problem, plastics production and disposal also considerably affects global warming.

More recently, the EU shared its new proposals to make sustainable products the norm and boost Europe’s resource independence with strong drivers for a circular economy. Likewise, the UK is committed to moving towards a more circular economy with the Circular Economy Package (CEP) legislative framework in progress.

Schneider Electric is one of the leading organisations moving to a more circular business model across their entire value chain. On the upcoming webinar they meet with peers from Interxion France and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to share best practice and discuss circularity as means to transition to a net zero future.
