EV wins UK’s Car of the Year award
The MG4 has been crowned the UK’s Car of the Year for 2023.
The electric vehicle (EV) with a range between 280 and 360 miles, depending on the model of choice, has been labelled ‘perfect’ by the awards and affordable.
Given the MG can charge to 80% in 35 minutes and the price point starts from just under £27,000 – the car has been lauded as not only the best EV but the best car in Britain, overcoming competition from petrol rivals.
John Challen, Director of the UK Car of the Year Awards, said: “The MG4 proves that electric cars can be affordable, practical and appeal to all areas of the automotive market.
“Fully charged, it offers more than enough miles for most journeys, while the design and driving dynamics tick two other important boxes for consumers. A deserved winner for the electric future.”
Upon receiving the award, MG’s Commercial Director Guy Pigounakis, said: “The MG4 has proved to be a hit with both existing and new customers since it arrived in September last year – and it is also hugely encouraging that so many expert reviewers hold the same opinion as well.”
