NCR Corporation commits to net zero emissions by 2050

NCR Corporation, an enterprise technology provider, has announced its commitment to net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

It plans to achieve the goal through various initiatives, including transitioning its fleet to electric vehicles (EVs) and switching to LEDs.

The company has developed a “comprehensive” greenhouse gas inventory plan that focuses on Scope 1 and 2 emissions from its global facility and service operations.

Its environmental initiatives include the addition of energy efficient lighting, reduction of water consumption and certification with sustainable building programmes such as LEED and BREEAM.

The NCR global headquarters in Midtown Atlanta has been awarded two LEED Platinum certifications, in addition to its new headquarters in Belgrade, Serbia, obtaining its LEED certification after opening in 2021.

Michael D. Hayford, Chief Executive Officer, NCR said: “Last year, NCR committed to becoming an ESG leader among our peer technology companies. We have been working hard to improve key areas that our employees, customers, investors and suppliers care about most.

“We are sharing multiple ESG reports and commitments for the first time to really stand behind what we said we were going to do and will continue to be transparent as we work to achieve our goals.”
