TotalEnergies and Japan’s ENEOS tie up for 2GW solar power in Asia

TotalEnergies and Japan’s ENEOS have joined forces to develop onsite distributed solar generation across Asia.

They have formed a 50/50 joint venture for the development of 2GW of solar capacity over the next five years.

The partnership will capitalise on the strengths of both companies, with TotalEnergies leveraging its expertise and its global footprint and ENEOS will use its expertise in renewables and brand mainly in japan to lower the costs of decentralised solutions offered to industrial and commercial customers.

TotalEnergies has a global portfolio of 2GW of solar generation in operation, under construction or under development.

Vincent Stoquart, Senior Vice President Renewables for TotalEnergies said: “We are pleased to partner with ENEOS, one of Asia’s most dynamic and established renewable energy players. Through this joint venture we will provide one of the most efficient solutions in Asia to help our B2B customers achieve their sustainability goals while reducing their costs.

“With this partnership, TotalEnergies further demonstrates its commitment to Asia, a key continent for reaching our target of 100GW of renewable generation capacity by 2030.”
